Privacy Policy

Drive1 Towing Limited ("we", "us", "our") respects your privacy and follows the New Zealand Privacy Act 2020. This page explains what information we collect when you contact us, how we use it, where it goes, and the choices you have.

1. Privacy contact

The person responsible for privacy at Drive1 Towing Limited is Ray. You can reach them at drive1towing@hotmail.com or 021 0289 7845.

2. What we collect

When you call, send an SMS or email, or submit our quote/booking form we may collect: your name, phone number, email address, vehicle make/model/year, vehicle condition (whether it starts, can go into neutral, can be steered/rolled, where it's parked, key availability, accident/insurance involvement), pickup and drop-off locations, your preferred contact method, and any free-text notes you provide. We do not collect payment-card information through this website.

3. How we use it

We use the information you provide solely to respond to your enquiry, dispatch a tow truck, plan a vehicle transport, prepare a quote, or coordinate with insurers, repairers or towing partners on your behalf.

4. How the form is delivered

The website's quote/booking form is processed by a small server-side handler running on our website host (Cloudflare Pages) and emailed to our inbox via the transactional email provider Resend (resend.com). When you submit the form, your details transit through Cloudflare and Resend before arriving at drive1towing@hotmail.com. The form is protected from automated spam by a hidden honeypot field rather than a third-party CAPTCHA. We do not use this data for marketing.

5. Where we store it

Enquiries arrive at our business email inbox. We retain job records for a reasonable period - typically 7 years where we are required to do so for tax and business records - to support invoicing, insurance follow-up and our legal obligations, and we delete or de-identify records when they are no longer needed.

6. Sharing

We do not sell your personal information. We share it only where you have asked us to (for example, with a repairer or insurer connected to your job), with our towing partner if a job is sub-contracted with your knowledge, or where we are required to by law.

7. Your rights

You can ask us what information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it where we are not otherwise required to retain it. Contact drive1towing@hotmail.com or call 021 0289 7845.

8. Cookies and embedded services

Google Analytics 4 analytics cookies are on by default. We use them to count page visits and understand which website content is used. Page-view events send this site’s origin and path with a blank referrer; query parameters, fragments, form details, names, phone numbers and email addresses are excluded. Google may process standard browser, device, session and approximate-location data outside New Zealand. You can reject analytics or change your choice at any time through Cookie settings in the footer. Your choice is saved in this browser; rejecting disables analytics and clears Google Analytics cookies set by this site. Rejection remains in effect on later visits. It does not erase data already received by Google. Advertising signals and ad personalisation remain disabled. The Google Maps embed used on the contact and service-area pages is separate and may set its own cookies; please review Google's privacy policy for details. Web fonts are loaded from Google Fonts and may produce log entries on Google's side.

9. Service Conditions

Our broader service conditions for towing and vehicle transport are available on the Service Conditions page.

10. Updates

We may update this policy as our practices change. The "last updated" date at the top of the page reflects the most recent change.
